Independence Day: Health, Life, and Freedom

Coming up on the eve of the annual Fourth of July celebration that is celebrated here in the dear Country of the United States of America. July 4, 1776, the Declaration of the Nation’s independence. A lengthy war that ended with the given power of which the United States has continued to build upon.

Flash forward to July 4, 2020, we are at war that we have yet to defeat. A pandemic as of now, with greater power over our health and lives. One, we are not independent of. The battle continues even so, of humanity during these times. This without any disregards to the history in which has enabled the life that American’s have been given in this Country, but as future history goes, knowing that our health and life is our greatest freedom at stake, at this moment in time. A life not to ever be taken for granted, nor for that of another. As a mother myself, one with a healthcare background and great passion for, I hold my self accountable now and in the future. I respect my loved one’s and community at large to protect my life at best for the sake of theirs as well. It is highly unfortunate that this is not the case for some and more so this is now an issue. It is understood that many have lost their sense of freedom during these times, but please be mindful when you decide to attend the next outing or BBQ this weekend, or any given day ahead. If you are one that knowingly is positive for Covid, even asymptomatically, this does not make you exempt from infecting anyone else. Please stay home. Please all, continue to protect yourself and others by safely celebrating this weekend, as you may choose. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the CDC guidelines.

There are many differences in beliefs for our current situation and for some, may not believe it is within their rights to wear a mask while attending to the public. If you are one who does not believe it is within your rights to do so, at the very least, understand that it is not within your rights to cause maleficence for the life of others. We all want to be able to celebrate our independence and freedom, and not just for this weekend. Remember that our health and life gives us this first. Health and humanity is a right and is highest of our necessities.  If you want to spread something much more powerful, do so with love and humanity! Let us achieve something even greater together. Independent of pride and prejudice.

I wish everyone great health and wellness at very best during these very difficult times. Stay safe and support your communities!

Unity with Community!
